Florida Federation of College Republicans Endorses Sharon Day for Secretary of the Republican National CommitteeJanuary 16, 2009 – The Florida Federation of College Republicans has unanimously endorsed the candidacy of Sharon Day for Secretary of the Republican National Committee. The Board agreed that Sharon Day has provided great leadership to the party in the state of Florida and has taken time to focus on student efforts.
The Florida Federation of College Republicans believes it is in our party’s best interest to be unified moving forward towards victory in 2010 and electing Sharon as the Party’s next National Secretary helps accomplish that important goal. Winning the Technology War
To the Members of the Republican National Committee:
It is no secret to you and me that the Democrats’ technology overwhelmingly beat our Party’s technology in 2008. While we know we were right on the issues, our failure to communicate with the voters across America and effectively raise money online via new technology, cost us too many votes.
From day one of my campaign for RNC Secretary, I have been emphatic about my desire to help the next RNC Chairman ensure that winning the war of technology is the number one priority of the RNC in the next two years. And I haven't just talked the talk.
This week, my campaign for RNC Secretary reached 1,000 followers on Twitter, allowing me to discuss the future of our Party with the people who make our Party run - grassroots activists who are no longer being reached only by home phones and direct mail, but on the internet and on their cell phone screens. I am proud to have been named one of the Top Conservatives on Twitter (TCOT). TCOT Co-Founder, Michael Leahy has publicly endorsed my candidacy saying, "I am personally endorsing Sharon Day to be the next Secretary of the RNC. She gets the importance of tech!"
In addition to Twitter, I have established an active presence on Facebook, YouTube, Blip.TV and I have even made my podcast available on iTunes. You may be asking yourself, "Why would I be using these new technologies"? And my answer would be, "because if we don't use technology from the top down at the RNC, how can we expect to fight and win the war of technology and win elections on the ground"? Technology must be a part of everything we do - not just in our campaigns on the ground, but amongst us - the members of the RNC.
I understand the importance of technology in winning in 2010 and beyond, and I will make it my number one priority if I have the privilege of serving as your next Secretary. That is why today I am proud to publicly endorse the Rebuild the Party Plan for the Future - a 10 point plan that puts technology at the forefront and ensures a stronger Republican Party for years to come.

FFRW Endorses Sharon Day as RNC Secretary
(Tallahassee, FL) The Florida Federation of Republican Women today announced their endorsement of Florida National Committeewoman, Sharon Day, as Secretary of the Republican National Committee.
Citing Ms. Day’s legacy of grassroots leadership, her leadership at the RNC on behalf of Florida Republicans and her recent success in building the nation’s largest coalition in support of the ticket during the 2008 presidential election cycle, the group put their support firmly behind her.
“Sharon Day will make an excellent Secretary of the RNC. She is knowledgeable and a very fine leader with an excellent reputation for building consensus among the diverse members of the Republican Party. The members of the FFRW were honored to work with her on Florida Women for McCain and in her debt for her leadership,” said Linda Ivell, president of the FFRW.

I had the opportunity to meet Sharon when she was at our Bay County FL Victory 2008 office with Chairman Jim Greer, and I was impressed. She has my complete endorsement. I knew about the problems that we were having with National during the campaign and Sharon was direct and honest about them during our conference call.
Hopefully with our efforts the RNC leadership will see the same qualities I do and elect Sharon Day RNC Secretary.

I was very impressed with Sharon and will support her in any way that I can. I do suggest that we email as many of the RNC Committee as possible and give them our reasons why we support her. I’m thrilled with her track record in organizing the group in Florida and her obvious commitment to the party on a National scale. We are campaigners, it’s what we do, it’s why we are here, we need to campaign for her and let those that will vote know who she is and that we as a group are excited at the possibility that we could have new enthusiasm and drive in the Secretary position with the RNC. One phone call with Sharon Day was all I needed to convince me that not only is Sharon qualified and the right person for the position of Secretary of the RNC, but she would be a formidable candidate for ANY of the executive positions within the RNC.
Having someone like Sharon sitting “at the table” in the RNC hierarchy is a win for conservatives and the Republican Party.

If the RNC is serious about developing a 50 State, 435 District strategy, then they must understand that this cannot be orchestrated from a single National Party group; State and Local GOP groups will have to be empowered to take on a greater role in and responsibility for our success.
